Admissions Process

Policy

Baltimore Lutheran welcomes applications from students desiring a challenging academic program within a Christian environment. Each applicant is evaluated on the strength of academic achievement, readiness, test scores, sense of responsibility, and desire to succeed in a Christian atmosphere. Admission is open to all students despite race, color, national or ethnic origin, and disability who possess the motivation, ability and character that would enable them to succeed in a rigorous academic environment.

Procedure

  1. The admissions process begins with receipt of the application and fee.
  2. Parents are encouraged to attend an Open House or to make an appointment to visit the school. You will meet with the Admissions Director, tour the campus, and have the opportunity to look in on classes. Students are encouraged to experience daily life at Baltimore Lutheran School through Shadow Days, which may be scheduled through the Admissions Office at extension 272.
  3. A transcript covering previous academic work is required. A release form will be sent to you upon receipt of the application in the Admissions Office. It will facilitate requesting your child’s school records from the current and previous year being sent to the BLS Admissions Office.
  4. 4. All applicants are required to take an admissions test. Students applying for Middle School (grades 6, 7 or 8) or High School (grades 9 and 10) are required to take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE). Information about dates, sites and registration can be found at http://www.iseetest.org/. The test will be administered at Baltimore Lutheran School on Saturday, December 3, and Saturday, February 4.
  5. 5. An interview with the applicant and his/her parents is required. An interview appointment time will be scheduled once admissions testing has been completed.
