Facilities

The 25-acre campus of Baltimore Lutheran School has seen many changes since the school opened in 1965, as the campus has grown to meet the needs of our students and the evolution of college preparatory education. Two of the most recent additions to our campus are the 100,000 square foot turf Saints Field and the Saints Field House.

The turf field utilizes a combination of synthetic fibers nested in a base of rubber. Our field looks and plays much more like a plush grass field. Since natural fields rarely remain plush after excessive use, especially in Baltimore’s sometimes extreme weather conditions, synthetic fields offer ideal conditions for every practice and game, even in poor weather.

Saints Field is not only ideal for football, soccer and lacrosse, but it is the first synthetic field used for baseball in the Maryland Independent Athletic Association. Once reserved for professional stadiums or major college athletic programs, synthetic surfaces have made great strides in recent years in the areas of safety and durability. The Sportexe Omni grass field has 100% ambient rubber infill to insure maximum shock absorption and safety. BLS athletes rave about their field. They express at how wonderfully consistent and comfortable the new field’s surface is for their sports.

Saints Field House is located behind the Upper School building. It is a multi-purpose building with lines for basketball, volleyball, and tennis. In addition, it boasts indoor field space for winter indoor soccer and indoor practice for many of our field sports including football, field hockey, soccer, baseball, and lacrosse. The field house also has weight training facilities and an adjacent terrace.

These two additions to the campus have made a positive impact on the daily life of our students at Baltimore Lutheran. They complement and enhance our existing educational facilities, which include the Upper and Middle School Buildings and the Lutheran Activitiy Center (LAC), which includes gymnasium and locker room facilities, the cafeteria, and the music room.

Please contact Mr. David Merritt regarding your interest in renting our new field or any other athletic or meeting space. You may reach Mr. Merritt via E-mail by clicking here.
